Ade Bajomo, NSE’s executive director resigns

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) may have recorded its first high profile resignation as the bourse’s Executive Director, Mr. Ade Bajomo, has resigned on Monday.
Bajomo, until his sudden resignation, is the Executive Director responsible for Market Operations and Technology at the Stock Exchange, a position he assumed on May 1, 2011. He serves on the board of NASD Plc, a Nigerian-based OTC platform.
The recent resignation, it would be recalled, took the form of the resignation of the former CEO of CSCS, Mr. Kyari Bukar, who resigned prior to the end of his contract.
Competent source that spoke on condition of anonymity revealed to The Daily Times that though Bajomo has thrown in the towel, issues relating to his resignation was not made public even as the Stock Exchange was yet to come out with report on the resignation.
According to reports, Bajomo’s resignation comes into effect December 31, 2017; but he, however, rather opted to proceed on his terminal leave from Thursday, November 16, 2017.
Bajomo recently anchored the just concluded NSE event on cybercrime, during which he gave a graphical illustration of how organizations were susceptible to cyber rogues and how they should be checked.
Daily Times recalls that the Board of Central Securities Clearing System PLC (CSCS) recently, appointed Mr. Haruna Jalo-Waziri, the erstwhile Executive Director, Capital Markets (business development), as the new Chief Executive Officer of CSCS Plc, he resumed on November 1, 2017, having resigned from the bourse upon his appointment.
Waziri’s appointment was sequel to the brief service in acting capacity by Mr. Bola Adeeko as Interim Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer effective January 3, 2017. Adeeko is currently a General Manager and Head of Corporate Services Division at the NSE.
Adeeko succeeded Mr. Kyari Bukar, who resigned his appointment ahead of his contract expiration to pursue other interests. His resignation took effect on December 31, 2016.
The Board Chairman of CSCS, Mr. Oscar N. Onyema , though yet to come out with remark on Bajomo’s resignation, lauded Kyari.
“The board would like to thank Mr. Bukar for his service and wish him well in his future endeavor,” he had said.
