Abia loses Chief of Staff

Abia State Government late on Friday lost its Chief of Staff (COS), Chief Chijioke Nwakodo.
An authoritative source at his Umuana-Ndume country home in Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state confirmed the death, stating that Chijioke, 56, died of an undisclosed ailment in a London hospital on Thursday.
The source further said that the news of his death was communicated to the family on Thursday evening, disclosing that arrangements were being made by the family to formally convey the message of his death to the governor.
Chijioke Nwakodo who is a father of two, took ill barely one year after he was appointed as Chief of Staff to the governor on June 3, 2015 and was later admitted into a London hospital where he died after treatment in many hospitals in Nigeria.
A former chairman of Umuahia North Local Government Area (1999 to 2002), the COS later served in many capacities during Chief T. A. Orji administration before becoming the current COS to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu before his death.
