AAAN unveils advocacy campaign on Nigeria’s unity

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, AAAN, has unveiled an advocacy campaign to further support government’s efforts of achieving a unified Nigeria.
This is aimed at collaborating previous government’s campaigns to enhance unity and peaceful coexistence among the citizens.
Over the years, government had embarked on initiatives like WAZOBIA, Good People, Great Nation; and others to encourage national unity and togetherness among the citizens.
While addressing journalists recently at the AAAN secretariat, Mr. Koyade Oluwasona, president of AAAN said the aim of the campaign is to see improved political tolerance, national reconciliation, unity and social cohesion among Nigerians.
In his words, “we believe a transformed political and economic system in Nigeria requires the full participation and commitment of citizens that put the principles of trust, relationship building, love for one another and unity, first and above everything else.”
He added that the campaign ethos is based on the rationale that national coexistence and development can only be achieved through unity.
The AAAN president said: “the campaign reinforces and writes a new philosophy in the hearts of Nigeria in spite of our differences; we are truly better together and there is no limit to what we can achieve when we lay aside our difference and reach out to one another.”
In achieving the primary objectives of the campaign, AAAN has secured the support of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, APCON, as the industry regulator, media organisations, journalists and other relevant stakeholders.
He added that the association will also collaborate with relevant sectoral groups in order to achieve massive success for the campaign.
For effectiveness of the campaign, Oluwasona said it will be exposed on both offline and online media platforms.
