Group reminds Buhari of one term promise

An association operating under the aegis of Third Age Group, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to keep sacrosanct his promise to lead Nigeria for one single term of four years and hand over power to a young Nigerian.
Reacting to calls by some individuals that the president should contemplate recontesting in 2019, the group observed that Buhari’s name will be rated alongside Nelson Mandela of South Africa if he will copy Mandela’s style of leadership, and use this single term to fulfil his campaign promises of 2015 to serve only one term.
The group, through a press statement signed by Tor-asee Atsem, advised Buhari to ignore praise singers but focus on surmounting the numerous challenges faced by Nigerians whose prayers God answered, believing that he can reverse the situation.
The statement read in part, “Our humble advise to President Buhari is to encourage him to reverse not on his primordial declaration of serving one term and hand over to a young Nigerian who will have his ears over sensitive issues of administration, and carried out his policies and continue with it and transform the country to realise the dreams of our fore fathers who suffered with their blood to secure a free Nigeria that would prosper”.
