Man goes into hiding as killers of his cousin intensify efforts to track him down

A man identified as Osedebamhen James Ekhomun has reportedly abandoned his community and fled after suspected cultists on his trail almost tracked him down in his hometown in Udakpa in Ubiaja in Esan South-East local government area of Edo State but were unsuccessful in their desperation.

Meanwhile the suspected cult group had earlier on November 15th 2024 attacked and murdered one Idahosa Ewaise Promise in his father’s compound in Cook road Benin City while he had gone in company of his cousin Osedebamhen James Ekhomun to check up on his sick father.

Cultists suspected to be killers of Idahosa Ewaise Promise were said to have recently stormed Udakpa community in Ubiaja in Esan South-East local government area of Edo State where his property and personal belongings worth millions of naira were reportedly destroyed as their search for Osedebamhen James Ekhomun continued.

According to information made available, Osedebamhen James Ekhomun had since been on the run and was seeking refuge in his hometown in Udakpa after he witnessed the gruesome murder of his cousin Idahosa Ewaise Promise on November 15th when they stormed his(cousin) father’s house in Cook road, Benin City.

His life had been in great danger after he witnessed the gruesome murder as the cultists were reportedly said to have earlier laid ambush around for him at his place of residence in Medical Store road in Benin City where they(cultists) stormed his apartment unannounced as it was said that their target Osedebamhen James Ekhomun was however fortunate not to have met with the cultists as he had earlier been away from home before the attack, it was confirmed.

As a prime witness in the murder case who had seen the faces of the killers of his cousin, Osedebamhen James Ekhomun’s life was no longer safe as he was reported to have immediately gone into hiding by relocating to his hometown.

However, it was gathered that his cousin’s killers again went after him by trailing him down to Udakpa community but were however unable to track him down as the killers were said to have met his absence when they stormed his community in Ubiaja.

Osedebamhen James Ekhomun’s life was said to be in great danger as he was well aware of the identities of the killers of his cousin who were desperately after him as it was said that they (killers) had vowed to eliminate him at all cost in order to stop him (Osedebamhen James Ekhomun) from revealing their true identities to the relevant security authority Recently cult rivalry between Maphite, Black-axe (Aye), Eiye and Vikings confraternities in Nigeria have reportedly claimed several lives as over 100 unresolved cases of cult killings have been reported in Edo State.

It was gathered that the suspected cultists laid ambush for their target by parking their car some distance away from the victim’s father’s house along Cook road as they were said to have walked into the victim’s family compound where they instantly murdered him while his cousin reportedly fled for his life.

According to an eye-witness account who pleaded anonymity, Osedebamhen James Ekhomun who was with his cousin during the attack, immediately ran away as the cultists shot severally at his cousin until he was confirmed dead.

The cultists were said to have reportedly chased after Osedebamhen James Ekhomun who watched helplessly as his cousin’s killers callously emptied their bullets into the body of Idahosa Ewaise Promise instantly leaving him lifeless.

It was said that Osedebamhen James Ekhomun who was immediately chased after by the cultists after witnessing the gruesome murder of his cousin, however managed to escape them(cultists) as he reportedly fled and went into hiding after losing sight of the killers of his cousin.

Meanwhile, as the killers continue in their desperate search for Osedebamhen James Ekhomun the prime witness to the murder of Idahosa Ewaise Promise, it was gathered that every of his details and pictures had been circulated on the platform of members of the cult group after failing in their second attempts to track him down in his community as they continue in their desperation to stop him from unveiling their true identities.
