Ekiti State deputy governor, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, has given the assurance that despite the current experienced by Nigerians due to fuel subsidy removal, the country will be a better place to live under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The deputy governor described the current economic situation in Nigeria as a phase that would surely pass in a short while, adding that the policies being initiated by the Federal Government would serve as springboards for loftier economic prosperity for all Nigerians.

According to a statement by her media aide, Victor Ogunje, made available to journalists on Monday, Mrs. Afuye spoke on Sunday at a church service marking the 12th anniversary of God of Fire Pentecostal Ministry, Ido-Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Addressing the congregation, Afuye said Nigeria was currently undergoing a process through which a new glory was about to manifest and the people would smile again and give glory to God.

She said President Tinubu was working tirelessly to bring an economic and attitudinal renaissance that would evolve a new Nigeria “where things work as obtainable in the advanced climes.”

“I know things are very tough; but the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government, under our father and leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is working assiduously to bring economic rebirth.

“This began with the removal of the fuel subsidy under which some had hidden to scam Nigerians of billions of dollars yearly. The intention behind the action is to ensure that our money is used for the poor Nigerians and not for a few oil cartels.

“I am optimistic that the country will bounce back and stand firmly on its feet to bring the goodies that are due for our citizens in no distant time.

“So, I appeal to you, don’t curse your leaders; rather, pray for them to succeed. The present Nigeria, under President Tinubu, will succeed by bringing the expected economic prosperity to our doorsteps,” she said.
