NYSC donates protective equipment to Enugu Govt
The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Enugu, on Friday, donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to the state government in the fight against coronavirus.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the items donated included, 40 cartons of hand sanitisers and 50 pieces of face masks.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Sam Ujogu, said the gesture was the contribution of the scheme toward checking the spread of the virus.
Ujogu said the hand sanitisers and face masks were produced by corps members under the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme of the scheme.
He said the NYSC management was aware of the government efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
The coordinator said that corps members had always been in the vanguard of crusades against dreaded diseases.
Responding, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Simon Ortuanya, reiterated the government’s commitment toward containing the spread of the virus in the state.

Ortuanya said that the two index cases in the state had tested negative and the patients discharged from isolation.
He said the state government would nurture the rewarding partnership it has with the NYSC.
