Emir of Hadejia tasks subjects on fire safety

The Emir of Hadejia in Jigawa state, Dr. Adamu Abubakar-Maje on Monday cautioned his subjects against misuse of fire in their homes, especially during the harmattan season.
Abubakar-Maje made the plea in Hadejia at the turbanning of Alhaji Usman Umar as the new village head of Dolema in Kafin-Hausa Local Government Area, which is one of the eight local government areas under the Hadejia Emirate Council.

He said that fire ignited to keep rooms warm during the harmattan is the major cause of fire disasters that gutted buildings and farm produce in the area over the years.
The emir charged district and village heads in his domain to educate their subjects on the need to always put out fire in their houses before going to sleep in the night.
Represented by the Galadima of Hadejia, Alhaji Usman Abdulazeez, Abubakar-Maje charged the new village head to be honest and loyal to the emirate and constituted authorities.

Umar in his response thanked the emirate council and the district head of Kafin Hausa for finding him worthy of the appointment, and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.
