Yul Edochie’s deputy, Okonkwo, declares for APGA

The deputy governorship candidate in the November 18 governorship election in Anambra State on the platform of Democratic People’s Congress (DPC) and a Staffordshire University of England trained Mechatronics Engineer, Emeka Okonkwo, has joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, with his supporters.

Engr. Okonkwo who was actor, Yul Edochie’s running mate in that election, said he decamped to APGA because of Gov Willie Obiano’s achievements in the state, noting that he was convinced by what he saw on ground, saying that the present administration had done noble in uniting the people of the state and also making APGA party a brand.

Okonkwo said he had decided to identify with a party he described as a winning team, stating that he had already instructed his supporters to follow suit.

“I am here now; no going back. I want to contribute towards the development of my dear state. I want others to join too. APGA as a family is big enough to accommodate as many people as possible,” Okonkwo said.

Receiving the new entrant, the member representing Dunukofia State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawrence Ezeudu, advised him to take up a copy of the party constitution and study to enable him to adjust himself properly.

The lawmaker urged Okonkwo to be obedient, committed and transparent, especially in his dealings with party members, noting that APGA would not condone any form of sharp practices, arrogance, overzealousness and dishonesty.

Also speaking, the transition committee chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Umerie, urged the new entrant to liaise and work with older party members if he wanted to succeed in his new found family.

The council boss called on him to contribute his quota to the party which he described as a moving train.

Those who attended the event included the newly elected coordinator of NANS Zone B, Comrade Okeke Kenneth Chinedu; popular Nolloywood actor, Yul Edochie, who also joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, immediately after the gubernatorial election last November.
