Obiano pledges to jail corrupt officials

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, says he will ensure that corrupt officials in government will face the full wrath of the law.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Strategic Communication, Mr. Oliver Okpala, made this known at the end of executive council meeting at Awka.
Hde said: “Any official found culpable of corruption or fraud will be prosecuted and if found guilty, will be jailed; the era of `business as usual’ is over.
“I, therefore call for change of attitude by workers in the state. I will work harder during my second term to justify the confidence reposed in me by the people.’’
Obiano said that he had taken drastic steps to ensure that corrupt officials in his administration were fished out through checks and monitoring.
“I will ensure that the welfare of the masses is given top priority like never before.
“I charge permanent secretaries in all ministries to live up to expectation or be shown the way out.’’
He said he would embark on regular visits to government offices to assess the level of commitment.
