Gov. Bello assures on Minna sports complex construction

Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Sani Bello has disclosed that his state is at the verge of signing mega contract to construct a multi-purpose sports complex in Minna.

The governor revealed this at the final of the 2017 NHF Super League in Abuja which was won by his state club and noted that the issue of lack of sports facilities in the state would soon be a thing of the past.

He added that he has directed the Niger State Ministry of Sports to go and renovate all abandoned sports facilities in the state.

According to him, “Niger state is a home of hockey and even when you come to the state, Kontagora is the home of hockey. We are at the verge of awarding a mega contract for the construction of a multi-purpose sports complex that will host hockey, football, basketball and many other sports.”

While appealing to all the talented youths to pay attention to sporting activities, Governor Bello noted that sports is a very important tool to curb youth agitations and restiveness which is the reason his administration is paying keen interest on sports.

He assured the champions of early camping that will make room for adequate preparation for the continental championship in Egypt later this year and donated two million naira and one million naira to the champions and runner up respectively.
