30,00 Ballot Papers Feared Missing In Anambra As Obiano , Ekwunife Trade Words

Over 30,000 ballot papers were allegedly catered away by suspected political thugs during the House of Assembly election in Anambra State.
The incidents which was alleged to have taken place at Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo local government areas was said to have been perpetrated by suspected supporters of People Democratic Party.
To this end Anambra State Governor Chief Willie Obiano has vowed to fish out hoodlums who allegedly snatched sensitive electoral materials from the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC .
Obiano who spoke to reporters shortly after he was accreditated manually at Eri Primary school ward 4 in Aguleri lamented that for second time in the 2015 general election the card reader did not work in his polling unit as well as some other polling units in the area.
The governor decried what he called the act of thurggry and brigandage by politicians, noting that as the Chief security Officer all the areas where there are incidents of ballot box snatching and thurggry would be stormed and the culprits brought to book.
He however reiterated that the State government would ensure security and peaceful conduct of election in Anambra State.
At Amatutu polling unit ward 1 in Agulu, the former governor of Anambra State Mr Peter Obi the use of card reader as a total failure noting that INEC could have perfected from the mistakes of the last election.
Also at Nri ward 1, the senator elect for Anambra Central District Mrs Uche Ekwunife accused the governor of rigging election with violence noting that he sent thugs and security officers to her polling unit to intimidate voters.
Ekwunife refuted that PDP is seeking for majority lawmakers in the House of Assembly to impeach Obiano insisting that it was a mere rumour.
she expressed dismay that the card reader is not working in the area and assured that her party will still sweep the poll.
While confirming the violence recorded in some parts of Anambra the Police Public Relation Officer Mr Uche Ezeh s said that in Uli Ihiala local government area that Agents of a political party stormed polling units beating up INEC and security officials before making away with sensitive electoral materials.
