“For the records, the Niger state Polytechnic started as Zungeru College of Advanced Studies (ZUCAS) in 1977 at a temporary site in 1984. The 6-3-3-4 system of education necessitated the conversion of ZUCAS into what is now known as the Niger state Polytechnic in 1991,” Dr. Egbako added.
He thanked the state government under Alh. Abubakar Sani -Bello for creating the enabling environment to take the institution to the next level.
Responding, the NBTE team leader, Malam Musa urged all members of National Board for Tertiary Education (NBTE) not to compromise standards in discharging their duty.
“You know we have only three assignments here which is reaccreditation, verification and inspection. In fact, I will advise you to make as many friends as you can, but don’t compromise standards,” he warned.
