Over 100 Houses Destroyed in Zamfara by Windstorm

At least 100 houses were destroyed by a windstorm in Daki-Takwas village in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara.

The Sole Administrator of the council, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad, confirmed the incident to news men on Thursday.

Muhammud, explained that this was not the first time people had experienced wind disaster and that the windstorm has become a threat to lives and property in some places across the state.

He said the state government had through the State Emergency Management Agency provided assistance to victims of such incidents at different times.

Muhammud encouraged the victims to take the incident as an act of God, saying that the damages done would be assessed for possible assistance.

“I will make sure the area is assessed very well and assistance will be given to the victims to reduce tension,” he said.
