Woman escapes death as family member hunts her in deadly land dispute

A middle aged woman Kafilat Oluwakemi Ladejobi has allegedly gone into hiding following a deadly attack launched against her by some dare devil hoodlums hired by a relative to eliminate her.

Kafilat Oluwakemi Ladejobi, a mother of four alleged to be entangled in a land dispute with her uncle name withheld, who sources say has vowed to kill her following her refusal to give up some parcels of land in Lekki, a high brow settlement in Lagos State.

Trouble was said to have started after Kafilat attempted to take possession of the land which originally belonged to her late father, Alhaji Rafiu Adeleke Ladejobi.

Angered by the effrontery displayed by Kafilat to take possession, her uncle allegedly sent a warning message to her never to set her foot on the land again in his bid forcibly take over the land, a due inheritance of the children of the deceased.

Encouraged by her right to inherit her father’s property, Kafilat was said to have taken further steps to survey the said land and effectively take possession when the workers were chased away from site after receiving the beating of their lives.

Matters took a dramatic turn on August 29, 2024 when some hoodlums attacked Kafilat where she had gone hiding in her mother’s house and beat her up inflicting serious bodily injuries on her.

Eye witnesses claimed that the hoodlums had come prepared to eliminate her but for the swift intervention of concerned neighbors for her life to be spared before she managed to escape in the process.

A source close to her family confirmed that Kafilat had not been seen as efforts made to locate her have been futile.

Before the latest attack, Kafilat had been attacked and beaten to stupor by some unidentified hoodlums in the Lagos Island area, leading to her spending several days in the hospital before she could recover.

“The hoodlums leaving Kafilat for dead, had said that she will not dare drag a piece land with any body in her next life”, said a witness of the incident to our correspondent.
