When Lagos Big Boys storm Adesegun Oniru's 49th birthday party
Quite unconventional but he chose to throw a party on the day his birthday fell on which was a Wednesday, rather than to wait to do so on a weekend. Trust Lagosians, they all trooped out in their numbers to honour the Lagos Commissioner for Waterfront and Infrastructure Development, in a party he organised at the Eko Hotel and Suites. The civil/structural engineer, from the Oniru dynasty, made sure to fete his guests who all adhered strictly to the white dress code, with all of the ingredients that makes for a good party; sumptuous food, choice wine and spirits, good music and an unforgettable side attraction
On Oba Saheed Elegushi’s social preference
If you refer to him as one of the most handsome monarchs in Nigeria, you won’t be far from the truth. He’s not only young, at 39, he is one monarch who doesn’t allow his royal status stand as a hindrance to enjoying the frills of being a socialite. He was at the event looking trendy as usual and took time to take pictures with friends and admirers.
Dame Abimbola Fashola and Senator Oluremi Tinubu represent husbands
Even though his principals, Governor Babatunde Fashola and Bola Ahmed Tinubu weren’t physically present to rejoice with him, their wives’ presence nonetheless made up for their absence. They both looked attractive as they radiated with smiles.
Oniru of Iruland, HRM Oba Idowu Oniru also partied
The celebrant’s father, Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru was the 14th Oniru of Iruland, before he got upgraded to a first class traditional ruler. He was at the party where he was given VIP treatment. There are unconfirmed talks that the celebrant is next line as king.
KWAM 1 as a guest and not a performer
King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal stormed the venue of the party alone and as a guest of the birthday boy. Many who saw him had expected that he would at some point perform a medley of his songs but that wasn’t to be. He made sure he enjoyed himself thoroughly as a guest and only said a few words, extolling the virtues of the celebrant when he was called upon
And the original cast of Mo’Hits crew thrilled guests
No one saw it coming but the high lights of the party was when the birthday boy successfully got together, the original members of the now defunct Mo’Hits crew; Don Jazzy, Wande Coal and D’Banj to thrill his guests. It was heartwarming to see the three of them sing together, belting out the hit tunes after hit tunes from the stables of Mo’Hits.
The Mavin crew not left out
Mavin crew led by their boss, Don Jazzy, not wanting to be outshone equally brought down the roof with their scintillating performance. In fact, Tiwa Savage who many had thought would be on maternity leave was on stage to thrill the audience.
