Journalist Peter Volik was sceptical when former Arsenal favourite Andrei Arshavin signed for FC Kairat, and offered the 35-year-old an interesting bet.

Specifically, he argued that the Russian midfielder would not score more than seven goals in a season; he was proven wrong.

After 25 appearances, Arshavin’s final tally amounted to… eight!
