University student need N16million to undergo surgery

Kim Isaac, a Social Work student of University of Jos, is in need of N16million to undergo surgery of the spinal cord in India, an illment that is also known as (Paraplegia paralyses).
The unfortunate illnesses which reduced Mr. Isaac to a wheel chair for the past 8years has stopped him from continuing his education which he defer indefinitely, until after a successful surgery as the spinal tumor has stop him from walking with his legs as he cannot move his entire lower limbs.
The 300 level student age 34, who hail from Barkin-ladi Local Government of Plateau State, also told Journalists that the state Government ignored him with series of letters written for assistance to the previous administration and have continue to push since the present government came on aboard, he said.
“I have written severally to the Plateau state government since during the tenure of Jonah Jang, now senator, to no avail and when this present administrations led by Governor Simon Lalong came on board, I and my team sustained the effort and yet no response even though we are still hopeful that light might shine on us through Lalong led government”.
The diagnosis which started from the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching hospital Zaria, has led Isaac traverse various hospitals in Nigeria which resulted to the recommendation by the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), to seek medical solution in India.
The recommendation gave birth to a group tagged,“team Kim walk again”, canvassing for funds to enable Kim commence treatment in India.
Leader of the group, Awal Gowal, said the group is confident that Kim will regain his feet again once treated, saying that the medical doctor in India in-charge of the surgery has assured that Kim will walk again, once the surgery is carried out.
He said the general public is needed to help raise funds for Mr. Kim Isaac´s surgery adding that nothing is to small to give.
Although receiving financial support from the honorable Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Solomon Dalung, the group disclosed that more than half of the total sum of N16 million is still needed.
Daily Times learnt that the spinal cord diagnosis which has left the 300 level student and a football player paralyzed, has also left his parents grounded financially as they have spent all their earnings on their beloved son to see him walkk again.
