UNIMAID, NNPC Staff And CJTF Ambushed By Boko Haram In Borno

Information reaching the PoliticsNGR newsdesk this morning reveals that in the late hours of Tuesday, July 25, suspected members of the Boko Haram Terrorist group ambushed a team of Oil exploration workers, killing some of them, while others are reportedly missing.

The incident occurred at a village between Gubio and Magumeri, Jibi local government area of Borno state. “The team includes staff of University of Maiduguri, Nigerian National Petroleum Commission, NNPC and security operatives”, a reliable source said.

PoliticsNGR learnt that some of the victims were taken away by the terrorists, while others were killed. “Out of about ten vehicles in the convoy that went, only one returned so far’, the source stated via a phone conversation.

The exact casualty figure is yet to be ascertained as there’s no any official statement from any of the security outfits as at the time of filing this report.
