Genesis Energy Holding, a UK-based Pan-African clean energy firm, has signed a $500 million Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Katsina State Government to deliver major energy infrastructure projects across the state.
The partnership will see the development, financing, construction, and operation of a range of energy projects focused on solar, wind, hydro, mini-grids, and natural gas solutions. These initiatives aim to fast-track industrialisation, support critical sectors like healthcare and agriculture, and provide reliable, sustainable power across Katsina.

Governor of Katsina State described the deal as a transformative step towards building resilient infrastructure that addresses immediate power needs while securing a greener, more prosperous future for the state. He revealed that the first project under this partnership will be commissioned before the end of April 2025.
