Trump, Obama ‘likely’ to meet Thursday at White House

A meeting between President Obama and President-Elect Donald Trump is “likely” to come Thursday, White House press assistant Desiree Barnes told Fox News.

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway initially told NBC that Obama called Trump, but it was unclear what they talked about.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in October that Obama would make sure that there would be a smooth transition to the next president, even if it was Trump who became president.

“The President is prepared to honor the will of the American people,” Earnest said. “Hopefully that’s not going to come about, but I think that’s a reflection of the president’s commitment to this issue, that he’swilling to exercise his own significant authority consistent with the approach he’s hoping that everybody else will take.”
