Rangers loan Toral from Arsenal
Rangers have completed the loan signing of Arsenal attacking midfielder Jon Toral. Toral’s loan spell at Granada ended after he had only made six appearances in all competitions this season. The 21-year-old played regularly in previous season-long loan spells with Brentford and Birmingham City in the Championship and now joins the Scottish Premiership side until the end of the season. Toral worked with Rangers manager Mark Warburton during his campaign at Brentford in 2014-15.
Alli doesn’t need new deal—Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham cannot give Dele Alli a new contract every time there are rumours over his future amid speculation linking him with Barcelona and Real Madrid. Reports suggested Spurs were ready to hand in-form Alli a new deal worth in excess of £100,000-per-week due to interest from the two La Liga giants. But the 20-year-old signed new contracts twice in 2016, the most recent coming in September – tying him to Spurs until 2022 – and Pochettino does not think his contract can be extended every time there is interest.
Ranieri backs Schlupp departure
Claudio Ranieri says Jeffrey Schlupp is unhappy at Leicester City and has no objection to him leaving the club. Leicester reportedly turned down a £9million bid for the versatile left-sided player, who has made four Premier League appearances this term, from Crystal Palace this week. The 24-year-old is also believed to be attracting the interest of West Brom, and Ranieri is willing to let him leave the King Power Stadium provided their valuation is met.
Celtic seal deal for rising star Eboue
Celtic have completed the signing of Kouassi Eboue from Krasnodar. The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a four-year contract with the Scottish champions for a reported fee of £2.8million. Celtic coach, Brendan Rodgers said this week that he needed only 10 seconds to realise Eboue’s potential and compared him to two star players during his time at Liverpool – Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho.
