Tornadoes stun Ikorodu United 2-0
Two first half goals by Adesina Gata on Sunday in Lokoja gave Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna a 2-0 win over visiting Ikorodu United FC of Lagos 2-0.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the game was a Match Day fixture in the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), and was played at the Confluence Stadium.
Gata first scored in the 6th minute through a penalty kick, following a handball infringement by Azu Chile, while he scored the second goal in the 31st minute.
Gata later told NAN his utmost joy was his team’s victory over the visitors, adding that his goals were as a result of team work.
“It was the collective hard work and team spirit of all our players that gave us the victory in the first half of the game,” he said.
