Top banks rated in countrywide survey, find out who tops the list

THE word ‘love’ doesn’t usually come up in conversation when talking about Nigerian banks.

In some circles banks are simply a necessary evil. Customers begrudgingly trade off paying fees and charges to ensure their money remains relatively safe and sound.

In other circles banks can be like a rich and well-connected uncle who has the money and power to support you so you to get that house, car, holiday, education or job.

Banks are also making life easier with innovative new mobile banking apps.

Although you would think most Nigerians would say the bank they are with is the best, it appears that is not the case.

According to research compiled by the Nigeria Annual Banking Survey, a large percentage of respondents weren’t happy with their current bank, opting to select other banks as the ‘best’.

An overwhelming majority of respondents said that Guaranty Trust Bank was the best even though they banked with other institutions.

However, some of the results from the survey will shock you, with some of the so-called top banks floundering down the bottom of the satisfaction ranks.
