Tiwa Savage: I Won’t Sign Artists, Managing Them Is Too Stressful

Nigerian singer-songwriter and actress Tiwa Savage has revealed that she has no plans to sign upcoming artists due to the stress and responsibility of managing musicians. Instead, she aims to build an ecosystem where African artists can thrive independently.
Speaking with Forbes Africa on Thursday, the ‘Somebody’s Son’ hitmaker explained that handling artists can be overwhelming. “I don’t think I have the gift to sign another artiste because artistes are stressful,” she said.
Savage is instead focusing on launching a music school to equip emerging talents with the right skills before they sign with labels. She also urged African artists to strengthen their own industry rather than seeking international validation.
