Tinubu Praises Aminu Dantata’s Life Of Integrity, Generosity

President Bola Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to the late business mogul and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, describing him as a “titan of integrity, humility, and generosity.”

Speaking during a condolence visit to the Dantata family residence in Kano on Friday, Tinubu said the elder statesman lived a life dedicated to public service, human compassion, and devotion to others.

Dantata, who passed away in Dubai on June 28, 2025, at the age of 94, was buried in Medina, Saudi Arabia, on July 1.

“This is a deeply personal visit for me. I came to condole with the Dantata family and the good people of Kano. He was not just a respected figure; he was part of my family,” the President said, recalling the counsel and prayers he received from Dantata during the 2023 presidential campaign.

Tinubu praised the late industrialist for his unwavering honesty and humility, saying, “If friendship and goodwill continue into the hereafter, Dantata will be there feeding the hungry and comforting the sick.”

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State thanked President Tinubu for his compassion and swift response following Dantata’s passing, noting the President had earlier dispatched delegations to Saudi Arabia and Kano.

He said Tinubu’s intervention facilitated burial arrangements and demonstrated strong leadership during the mourning period.

“The entire process was seamless and successful, thanks to your leadership and support,” the Governor said.

The eldest son of the deceased, Alhaji Tajudeen Dantata, also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his show of solidarity.

“You have demonstrated closeness with him while he was alive, and even in his death, you have proven that he was a dear brother and friend,” he said.

The condolence visit was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Governors of Kano and Jigawa, and business mogul Aliko Dangote.
