Tinubu Arrives Dar es Salaam for Mission 300 Africa energy summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on Friday night to participate in the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, set to begin on January 27.
The Nigerian leader touched down at 10:20 p.m. local time (8:20 p.m. Nigerian time) and was warmly received by Tanzania’s Foreign Minister, Amb. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, alongside Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires to Tanzania, Amb. Salisu Suleiman.
The two-day summit, hosted by the government of Tanzania in collaboration with the African Union, African Development Bank (AfDB), and the World Bank, aims to advance energy access for 300 million Africans by 2030.
On the first day, ministers from participating nations, including Nigeria, will present their national energy compacts detailing strategies to achieve universal access to energy within five years.

Day two will feature Heads of State endorsing the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, a unified roadmap to accelerate Africa’s energy transition and development.
President Tinubu is scheduled to deliver a national address reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to universal energy access and its leadership in Africa’s energy sector. He will spotlight Nigeria’s clean energy initiatives and plans for integrated energy delivery across the continent.
The President is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power Mr. Olu Verheijen, and other senior government officials.
The Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit is a crucial step in addressing the continent’s energy challenges and fostering sustainable development.
