I won’t disclose my strategies, but I’m the next gov of Ekiti -Obafemi

BY STEPHEN GBADAMOSI
Governorship aspirant in Ekiti State in next year’s elections, Otunba Peter Olugbenga Obafemi, has said he remains the next governor of the state.
Obafemi, who spoke with journalists on Thursday, however, declined to state his key programmes, as he said they were his strategies to prove that he was the best for the state; hence, the reason for keeping them under wraps for now.
“I have said it at different fora that I am in the governorship race to make the people of Ekiti State enjoy good dividends of democracy.
“I have refrained to join the fray of most technocrats that complain a lot and see politics as a dirty game; and I decided to take active part, in order to serve my fatherland and touch the lives of the people.

“My coming into the race was not by accident; it was well-planned and I
have all along been busy researching into ways of making positive impacts on the lives of the people of the state.
“I will bring about the real and genuine change the people of the state are clamouring for in the next dispensation.
“There are many things I would not want to reveal on the social media for now, because they are my strategies to make a difference.
“Our co-contestants may copy them. Hopefully, when we are on top of the race, I would start unveiling them one after the other.
“I would just sum it up in few lines that I will make a difference. I will embark on meaningful projects and programmes that would positively touch the lives of my people.
“I will ensure that all our ailing and neglected cottage industries are revived and new ones would be established, so that our teeming youths and numerous graduates coming out of schools every year would be gainfully employed.
“Also, there would be a renewed focus on agriculture and agro processing. My government would partner with CAADP to cultivate more lands for agriculture, so as to have more food to eat and our able youths would be properly engaged.
“I will make sure that residents of the state are secured and economically empowered to go into various trades to sustain their lives.
“When they are busy in different trades or activities, when they are empowered and engaged, they would be carried away by the profits they make and be mindful of the fact that peace would lead to all kinds of developments,” he said.
“I am a bonafide indigene of Ikole-Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Nigeria. I’m an aviation top shot, astute businessman, home-grown and grassroots politician. I am a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State.
“So, anything that will bring peace to my people, will be my area of concentration, because I place priority on peace,” Obafemi added.
