Few others are however making huge contributions to the fight against COVID-19 quietly, though not celebrated like those who publicly announce their donations.
Top among such personalities who are silently supporting the COVID-19 fight with their resources are Mr. Gilbert Ramez Chagoury, Nigerian billionaire businessman, diplomat and philanthropist, and his brother, Ronald Chagoury, a businessman, the co-founder, and CEO of the Chagoury Group.
Premium hospitality firm, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos is another organisation quietly but hugely supporting the battle against COVID-19 in the country.
When government called on Nigerians and organisations to support the COVID fight, Gilbert and Ronald Chagoury rose to the occasion by donating a whooping One billion Naira to the Lagos State government.
What is exemplary is that they made no noise about the donation unlike others who are beneficiaries of government patronage.
Their unique style is worth emulating particularly by captains of industry as well as other Nigerians of means.
The Chagoury brothers by handsomely supporting the fight against Coronavirus in Nigeria are teaching other Nigerians of means that they can still support worthy causes without fanfare and they will still be celebrated one way or another.
Eko Hotel and Suites, on its part, is also lending support to the fight against COVID-19 quietly and handsomely too.
The premium hospitality company, ever since the Lagos State government called for support, has been donating N300 million every day to the fight against the pandemic. The unique thing here also is that the firm does so quietly. What an example!
