Threat To Life: Rampaging Cultists Set Houses Ablaze Over Renounciation of Ex-member

Palpable fear gripped residents of Ezoti street in Benin City when dreaded members of Black-Axe confraternity attacked and burnt down residential buildings, one of which a former member lived after sporadic gunshots were heard in the community.

Recall that Okhuaherobo Frank Usunobu a former member of Black-axe confraternity whose life had been under severe threat after he renounced membership of the group, fled with his family as the group unleashed terror and arson attack in the community.

It was gathered that the group was vehemently against any of its members renouncing membership as the penalty of death was the reward for such decision.

The dreded cultists, according to information gathered, had earlier allegedly murdered a man when they attacked Okhuaherobo Frank Usunobu at his place of work where several gunshots were fired into the air as others scampered for safety.

An eyewitness account who preferred anonymity said that the cultists had been terrorising the neigbhours whenever they come around by firing gunshots into the air and searching every building for their former member.

According to the eyewitness, the attack that left in its trail tales of bitter woes for the family of the ex-member, as the wife and children were mercillesly beaten up by the cultists in one of the attacks.

Another eyewitness said the cultists who were after their former member and his family again attacked his residential building where his wife was severely beaten up again while his 3 children were away at school while their father, a former member was at work .

It was gathered that the angry cultists set 5 residential buildings ablaze including the house of Okhuarherobo Frank Usunobun in another separate attack after it was discovered that he and his family had secretly moved out of the house.

The dreaded members of the Black-axe confraternity are often notorious for inflicting pains of great magnitude on members who renounced membership of the group as death penalty is usually the reward for such decision.

However, the burning down of 5 buildings in the community marked the beginning of the series of death threats on the family of Okhaherobo Frank Usunobu and others in the community as the cult members vehemently vowed in their quest to eliminate every member of his family .

Meanwhile, confirmed report in the community revealed that the family of the ex-member had fled from the community over the continued threats to life from members of the cult group as their immediate whereabourts however remain unknown to anyone in the community.
