Thick dust haze atmosphere to prevail on Thursday – NiMet
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thick dust haze conditions over the central states of the country on Thursday.
NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Wednesday in Abuja.
It added that the region would have day and night temperatures of 25 to 34 degrees Celsius and 8 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience dust haze conditions with visibility range of 1,000 to 2,000 metres in the next 24 hours.
It also predicted localised visibility values of less than 1,000 metres over Oshogbo and Akure with day and night time temperatures of 31 to 33 degrees Celsius and 18 to 21 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience thick dust haze conditions with day and night temperatures of 24 to 31 degrees Celsius and 12 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Thick dust haze conditions with visibilities less than 1,000 metres are expected over the country in the next 24 hours,’’ NiMet predicted.
