Tension griefs Sukur, an Adamawa community as a soldier killed Man trying to escape motorcycle seizure

There is seems to be a mounting tension over the killing of a Man by a Nigerian Soldier stationed in the Madagali area of Adamawa state.

Report reaching us through Sukur Youth Development Association’s Secretary, Lawrence Luka said Solomon Joshua was shot dead when he was trying to escape from the soldier’s brutality and his motorcycle seizure.

Lawrence narrated that the incident happened Tuesday morning after the parking space to Sukur, along Rugudum/Tiksu Road of Madagali Local Government where Solomon met his Waterloo.

He said the victim, Joshua is in his late twenties is one of the many casualties of the military ferocity attitudes to the people in recent times.

He accused the military who were asked to secured and protect them but end up extorting money from them and make seizure of Motorcycles from them, at times converting them to their personal use.

He worried that they have buried their son, calling on Justice to prevail over what he described as constant injustice being meted on them by Nigerian Military.

“The Young Man ran away in trying to escape the Military brutality and seizure of his Motorcycle which is a new one and to reclaim back after the seizure he must pay at least not less than forty thousand nairas (40,000)

” He hid behind a three at Rugudum Junction not knowing the armed soldier has targeted him killed him instantly.” He said

The Village head of Sukur, Luka Gizi stated that the worst has happened to them and that they are on talking terms with the Senior Military in charge of their operations in Madagali.

According to him, they had a meeting with Col Musa who is controlling the patrol unit in Madagali and other common, cities, and have regretted the incident.

When contacted the public relations officer of the 23 Armored Brigade in Yola, Major Mohammed Haruna Sani said Madagali military operations is nothing their jurisdiction of the command as their operations stop at Mubi.

According to the unit is under operation Zaman Lafiya dole in Maiduguri.
