Swift Networks, Cobranet Ltd win two slots of 25 MHz in 5.4GH spectrum for Lagos

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has announced Swift Networks Ltd and Cobranet Ltd as the winners of the two (2) slots of 25 MHz in the 5.4GHz Spectrum for Lagos State.
Six companies bided for the two slots. 5.4GHz is used for the delivery of wireless broadband services.
The winners were announced at the conclusion of the bid process held Tuesday at Sandralia Hotel and was overseen by Engr Ubale Maska, the NCC Executive Commissioner for Technical Services.
The two successful companies won the two slots at the 11th round at the price of N27, 659, 347.10k each.
By the outcome of the auction, the two successful companies have been provisionally awarded the two slots and have up to January 5, 2017 to pay N25, 784, 347.10 each, being the balance of the winning amount excluding the amount paid earlier as intention to bid deposit (IBD).
The six companies which bided for the two slots available in Lagos are Swift Networks Ltd, Cobranet Ltd, Tizeti Network Ltd, E-Kennet Ltd, Steam Broadcasting and Communications Ltd as well as Juniper Solutions Ltd.
The Chief Executive Officer of Swift Networks Ltd, Mr Charles Anudu, described the process as transparent adding that it has been engaging while the Chief Executive Officer of Juniper Solutions, Mr Gboyega Ojuri, said that even though his company did not win the bid he was satisfied with the process which he also described as transparent.
