Subsidy Removal: Gov Fintiri appoints monarchs, NUJ, others into committee on palliative distribution

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has constituted Implementation Committee on the distribution of palliative aimed to cushion effects of fuel subsidy removal.
The committee which included His Royal Highness the Amna Shelleng, Hama Bachama and the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ).
The 20 man committee set up by Fintiri is to handle the food stuffs mainly for the people of the state in the first instance.
Others in the committee include; members of the National Assembly, 2 members of the State Assembly, Hon Commissioner , Head of Service, Chairman ALGON, Brigade Commander, Air Force Base Commander, Commissioner of Police and Director DSS
Also Commandant Civil Defence Corps, Representative Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Representative Muslim Council, Representative NUJ, Representative NLC, Representative TUC, Representative NCWS and ADSEMA (to serve as Secretariat) .
Statement by Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou said the Adamawa State Palliatives Coordination and Distribution Committee comprise of various organisations, agencies, groups and individuals who are to oversee the collection and distribution of palliatives to the people of Adamawa State.

He said Items to be distributed in the first instance include mainly grains and foodstuff to be monitored by the high level Committee which is to be inaugurated on Thursday 24th August, 2023.
The inauguration will hold at the Conference Hall of the Government House, Yola, under the chairmanship of the Secretary to the State Government Hon. Awwal D Tukur as Chairman.
