Stigma, neglect kill HIV patients faster than the virus -DG Kano AIDS agency
The Director General, Kano State Agency for the Control of Aids, Dr. Usman Bashir, has stated that stigma and neglect shown to People Living With HIV (PLWH) by the society mostly causes their death rather the effect of the virus especially.
The director made the disclosure on during a live phone-in radio program broadcast by Arewa FM in Kano.
The medical doctor advised members of the society to embrace and show affection to PLWHA so as to encourage them to live healthy and longer lives.
Dr. Usman reassured PLWH that the present administration of Gov. Abdullah Umar Ganduje, is working around the clock to ensure all the needed care and support service are provide across the state.
