Stella Oduah In Court Over Alleged Financial Misappropriation

On Monday, Senator Stella Oduah, former Minister of Aviation, appeared at the Federal High Court, Abuja, over alleged financial impropriety.
The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleges that, while serving as a minister, Oduah misappropriated public funds.
In a 25-count presented against the former minister and eight others, they are accused of fraud and diversion of funds through the operation of anonymous bank accounts.
The prosecutor, Hassan Liman, told the court during the resumed sitting that the EFCC was unable to serve the charges on the fifth and sixth defendants.
At the resumed sitting, the prosecutor, Hassan Liman told the court that the EFCC has been unable to serve the charges on the fifth and sixth defendants.
The prosecutor, therefore, prayed for leave of the court to serve the defendants, which are corporate bodies, at their respective addresses.
The presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo, then set the arraignment for April 19, 2021.
Justice Inyang Ekwo had previously scheduled February 22 for the arraignment because when the case was first reported on February 9, 2021, the former minister was not yet served with the court proceedings.
