Sports veterans brainstorm in Lagos

Sports Veterans Nigeria (SVN), an umbrella association comprising of retired sports administrators, technocrats, athletes, media practitioners of repute and other stakeholders of Nigerian sports will today in Lagos converge to discuss on how to revitalize, rebrand and re-energise the association to meet with current realities in the sporting world.
SVN boss and former president of West African Football Union (WAFU), Chief Jonathan Ogufere, revealed that the contribution and advice from members of SVN will go a long way in helping present day sports administrators in taking useful decisions that will help take Nigerian sports to the next level.
He added that before this can effectively be done the organization needs to be overhauled and be in a state where decisions can be effectively made and practicable solutions carried out for the good of sports development in Nigeria.
“The reason behind our gathering in Lagos is a follow up to our last meeting in 2016.
“Some of our members raised keys suggestions on the need to rebrand the association for it to effectively carry out its duties and that is exactly what we are going do in our Lagos gathering,” Ogufere said.
