South Africa will repeat 2012 triumph against Nigeria, says Desiree Ellis

The coach insists they are ready to make history against the Super Falcons in Tuesday’s Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Limbe
After trashing Egypt to seal a semi-final spot, Banyana Banyana trainer vowed her side will avenge their 2014 semi-final defeat to the Super Flacons at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium.
Ellis’ side edged Nigeria to a 1-0 defeat in Equatorial Guinea in 2012 and now needs a victory against the seven-time record title holders to reach the final.
“You’re are right if you say our campaign in 2014 edition in Namibia follow the similar partner,” Ellis told Goal.
“We lost to Cameroon, drew against Ghana and defeat Algeria 5-1 but later lost Nigeria 2-1 in the semi-final.
“But in 2012 in Equatorial Guinea in the semi-final, then some of the players were present in 2014 and some of the players in 2014 are currently still here. But if we are not ready, then we
should be here. “We have worked on a few things, it is not just Nigeria but you’re playing against the defending champions and we need to respect them.
“When we get to the pitch, it will be 11-11 and it is who executed their plans the best that did well.
“I believe that we have a plan and we actually have to execute that plans. Whatever duration the game is going to be if we can execute that plan well then we will be victorious against Nigeria.”
