Sen. Orji unifies senatorial zone, assures quality representation

In his bid to unify Abia Central Senatorial District, the senator representing Abia Senatorial District, Sen. Theodore Ahamefule Orji Saturday, met with aggrieved Udo Abia organization, thus ending years of acrimony within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP faithful in the district.
Led by its Coordinator, Engr. Ogbonna Chiemela Leo, the group had alleged that injustice was meted to them by the party hierarchy in the state during the 2015 general elections, stating “the government had through selfish politicians, made the polity to be very bad”, hence side-lining some organizations like Udo Abia at the helm of affairs.
He said the group had made peace and then “came with sincerity of heart” to meet with the senator, pointing out that they will be giving the senator, while assuring that “what happened in 2015 will not happen again.
We have converted head mantra to mind mantra. They have accepted that they were maltreated and had resolved to be back to support Sen. Orji”.
Addressing the multitude of faithful, Sen. Orji expressed his happiness that at last “anger has subsided and peace returned” to his followers in the constituency, while urging them to be focused.
He informed them that if wronged, that it was not intentional, recalling that as a governor, he had touched them directly and carried all and now as a senator, wants to also touch them directly, as well as representing them well at the red chamber in Abuja.
The peace, he said should be continuous, and advised them to spread the news and as well sensitize others about the good tides in the constituency.
While urging them to be united and be in touch with him as he is in the Senate to represent them, assured them that he will not do anything bad to them or disappoint them and called ofr their confidence on him as he will not abandon them.
Earlier in their various speeches, Hon. Emma Iroegbu (Umuahia North), Hon. Ibeku (Umuahia south}, Onyebuchi Isaac (Ikwuano), Hon. Chijioke Ozems (isiala Ngwa North), Lawrence Onyeukwu (Isiala Ngwa South) and Chukwu Nwagbara (Osisioma) recalled moves that ended in the peace,
pointing out that they have made mistakes in the past but now “clamour for fairness and equity”, stating further “for remembering us, we will do your will for our own good”.
They informed the senator that “what happened during the election your first tenure will not happen again as we have resolved to be behind you. Having initiated peace, we assure you of our support”.
They said the meeting indicated that the senator’s presence is getting to the grassroots, stating “the aggrieved has now repented and is now behind you.”
The Isiala Ngwa North members thanked him for giving Ndi Ngwa, which is good to Ngwa people, recalling that he was the only governor who feted constituent irrespective of their party affiliation, while describing him as a genius, stating “we have repented and will do the right thing this time”.
The constituents also advice him to always be in constant touch with them as representatives the grassroots, while a renowned women mobilize from Olokoro in Umuahia South LGA, Chief Mrs. Naomi Okezie disclosed that the Udo Abia group had suffered in the hands of party bigwigs in the past,
advising him to come to the grassroots to succeed in his 2019 second term bid, assuring that as a mobilizer of women in Olokoro, the votes from women in the area will be massive for him, come 2019 elections in the state.
Highpoint of interaction was a vote of confidence the group passed on the senator who feted them with Christmas food items and cash.
