Secession: Kumuyi harps on unity, peaceful co-existence among Nigerians

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor W.F Kumuyi, has said the present clamour for secession and disintegration in the country is not the solution to the problem confronting the nation, stressing the need for national unity and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.

Speaking with newsmen at the Deeper Life Camp ground, Enugu, the cleric, who is in the state for a one day crusade, said despite the challenges facing the country, people should keep faith in God.

According to him, although there are challenges in the country, “separation or secession as being agitated by some ethnic nationalities is not the answer,” adding that “secession will not bring about permanent solution.”

Kumuyi attributed the problem in the country to a missing link between the people and God, stressing the need for a spiritual reconnection the Creator.

He noted that his mission to the state is to connect the people of Enugu state and South-East region to God via prayers, which, according to him, remains the key to any problem no matter its magnitude.

Pastor Kumuyi, stated: “You know, I have been coming to the South-East on regular basis. I have come again to share the love and grace of God with the people of the area.”

He added that the Enugu crusade scheduled for today, June 16, at the Deeper Life Campground is non denominational.

“It is open to all children of God. I want to connect all with God,” he declared.

Kumuyi called on the people of the state and beyond to take advantage of the crusade with the theme: ‘Connecting with the God of Power.’
