The Chairman, Senate Committee on Ecology and Environment, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting transparent, free, fair and credible elections in Kwara State.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Bamikole Omishore, he said “on our part, we in the APC will continue to stand on the side of the people. We will continue to put in our best in order to ensure further social, economic and infrastructural development to all parts of Kwara State. We will continue to fight for what is in the best interest of Kwara and Nigeria”.
Saraki also praised the security agencies for ensuring that the elections were held in an orderly atmosphere.
The former governor of the state, whose party, All Progressives Congress (APC), won all the nine National Assembly seats in the state and the presidential election, said that through the outcome of the election “it is clear that the people of Kwara have spoken loud and clear with their votes.
“They have demonstrated their unflinching commitment to democracy and the progress of Kwara State in particular and Nigeria as a whole. I urge all politicians and key stakeholders to listen to the voice of the people.
