Royal father urges youths to embark on Agriculture

Youths across the 36 States of Nigeria have been advised to engage in meaningful venture like Agriculture to earn a living and meet other household needs instead of roaming the streets looking for white collar jobs.
The Emir of Muri, HRH, Alh. Abbas Njidda Tafida stated this yesterday at his Palace in Jalingo while addressing Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year’s Ei-del- Kabir celebration.
The Royal Father, who frowned at the sudden increase of restiveness and drug abuse among youths in the society, attributed same to loneliness that emanated as a result of unemployment.
He charged every young man and woman to engage in meaningful agriculture with a view to being self reliant?
The Emir further condemned in totality the incessant clashes between farmers and herdsmen especially in the Northern part of the Country, where according to him, lives were lost with property worth millions of Naira destroyed.
While calling on the people of the state to co-exist peacefully with one another irrespective of political, religious or tribal background, the Traditional Father opined that peace remained the panacea for development.
“In the past, people live together, all the tribes grew up to share things together, how come now, the same people who have been together for decades, now kill themselves?”, he queried.
“The discrimination of who is a Muslim and who is a Christian does not demonstrate the teachings of the two Prophets we believe here on earth”, His Royal Majesty added.
In an interview, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau for Local Government and chieftaincy Affairs in Taraba State, Alh. Bello Yero charged youths of the State to shun all forms of social vices.
Bello Yero who discouraged the alarming rate of thuggery among youths, cautioned politicians to play their game according to the rules and stop empowering the younger ones with weapon to harm their opponents for continued peace in the society.
