Road construction to begin in Bariga LCDA in two weeks – Ambode

Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Monday directed that construction of two roads should begin in Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in a fortnight, to address the poor state of roads in the area.

Ambode gave the directive during an inspection tour of roads in the area.

“I am totally displeased with all these roads that I have gone through, so within the next two weeks, tractors will commence job on this Ilaje Road and Odunsi Street.

“We have already awarded contracts for Ariyo Road that will go under the Third Mainland Bridge after Bertola and go the other side of Oworonshoki.

“We should be able to work and live in Bariga,’’ Ambode said.

The governor also promised to give people of the area a new jetty to ease transportation in the axis.

He assured residents of the state that no community would be left behind in his administration’s development agenda.

Ambode urged people of the area to continue to maintain the peace currently being witnessed, and to pay their taxes promptly.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor also stopped by at the construction site of the world class Oshodi Transport interchange terminal to assess the level of on-going work.

Ambode gave an assurance that his administration remained committed to delivering adequate infrastructure to residents of the state.
