Rivers police declare three suspected homosexuals wanted
By Paul Umoro, Port Harcourt
The Rivers State Police Command has declared three young men wanted over their homosexual related activities.
The three of Okolo Paul Chukwugaekwu, Okoye Uchenna, and Okpara Michael, who are currently on the run, were among a group of homsexuals who hosted a party in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
However, while the police arrested 22 of them, three of the suspects escaped arrest on 15th June, 2023.

A police source hinted that Paul and his friends left the party before the arrival of operatives.
According to a senior police officer of the command, “they are nefarious for indulging in homosexual activities, which you know is against the law of the land.
“They went as far as hosting a party in a popular hotel, before our operatives were alerted.

“However, while we arrested 22 of them, three had escaped earlier. They include Okolo Paul Chukwugaekwu from Ogbaku, in Awgu, Enugu State, Okoye Uchenna from Aninri in Enugu State, and Okpara Michael from Nnewi in Anambra State.
“We are urging good Nigerians with useful information as to their whereabouts to report to the police.

“Already, their counterparts in the crime, the 22 others, have been charged to court and remanded.”
Law enforcement believes that fear of being prosecuted has forced him to consider leaving Nigeria to another country for his safety, appealing that “the alarming reality of violence and persecution against individuals based on their sexual orientation demands attention and action.”
