REVEALED: The stat that proves Costa is outstripping Drogba & Lampard

The Spain international’s minutes-per-goal ratio for the Blues is the best for the club in the Premier League era after a blistering start to the new campaign

Rekindling Diego Costa’s form in front of goal has been Antonio Conte’s finest achievement since his arrival at Chelsea, with the Spain international leading the Premier League scoring charts.

Former Atletico Madrid striker Costa has scored seven goals in his eight league matches so far this season and has taken an early lead in the race to win the 2016-17 Golden Boot.

And Costa’s form means he has now moved ahead of Blues legends such as Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard in terms of his rate of goalscoring.

He has found the net every 132.6 minutes in the English top-flight, moving him ahead of Hernan Crespo in second of those to have scored at least 10 goals for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

And of current Premier League players, only Manchester City duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Sergio Aguero have better records.
