The wife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate, Hajiya Rukkayya Atiku has charged women in Kano to resist those going round buying their votes under whatever guise and save their votes for the PDP in the forthcoming elections.
According to her, she was in Kano to solicit the support of the people of the state particularly the women for her husband and the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Kano, Abba Kabir.
She said, the victory of her husband and the party, is victory for all, and a stop to untold hardship under the present administration urging stressing that, the only way forward is to vote out the Ruling APC.
Speaking at the occasion, Mariah Waziri, National Women leader, (PDP) said, “We are here in Kano today to have discussions with you and seek your advices on how to emerge victorious in the forthcoming presidential elections.
Women in Kano from history are wonderful people and I want you to know that the only way we can put a stop to hunger, poverty, unemployment and insecurity is to vote for PDP in the presidential and subsequent elections.
I assure you that our presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar is a man capable and would be in charge of affairs unlike what we are seeing at the moment.
We call on all our women supporters to ensure our victory in the state by going from house to house to ensure they woo more votes and support for PDP and ensure that what happened at Ekiti and Osun did not repeat itself in Kano.
During the town hall meeting, Rukkayya Atiku empowered the women with food items tag “a kori yunwa” meaning; let’s do away with hunger.
