Quaresma stunner named UEFA Champions League Goal of the Week, presented by Nissan!

The Portugal international’s marvelous free-kick for Besiktas beat out competition from the likes of Theo Walcott and Paulo Dybala to claim the gong this week
Besiktas star Ricardo Quaresma’s stunning free-kick has been named matchday 2’s UEFA Champions League Goal of the Week, presented by Nissan.
The Super Lig champions seek to make it past the group stage for the first time in the club’s history and the Portugal international’s curling strike secured what could prove a valuable point for his side in a 1-1 draw with Dynamo Kiev.
It’s a case of second time lucky for a Besiktas free-kick after Anderson Talisca’s splendid strike against Benfica on matchday 1 was overlooked.
Quaresma saw off competition from the likes of Arsenal’s Theo Walcott, who earned a nomination for his angled finish that rounded off a patient move from the Gunners in their 2-0 win over Basel, and Monaco’s Kamil Glik, whose brilliant late volley for Monaco secured a point for the Principality club against Bayer Leverkusen.
Juventus’ starlet Paulo Dybala also missed out after making the shortlist with his ferocious long-range strike in the 4-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb. as did Thomas Delaney for a thumping drive from distance that flew into the top corner of Club Brugge’s net as his Copenhagen side continued their strong start to the competition with a 4-0 win of their own.
