Prime witness to friend’s murder goes into hiding as killers launch manhunt
A man identified as Dennis Agbokhai Obazee has reportedly abandoned his community in Benin City and fled as suspected members of Eiye confraternity intensified manhunt to eliminate him, it was confirmed.
Dennis Agbokhai Obazee was said to have reportedly witnessed the gruesome murder of his close friend Smart Ogbene a.k.a Siimon, a member of the Black-axe confraternity who was gruesomely murdered by rival cult group on November 16th 2024 at Km6 Country Home road in Benin City.
It was gathered that Dennis Agbokhai Obazee was with Smart Ogbene when the rival cult group attacked them at the point of buying fish-barbeque in the middle of the night and ruthlessly shot at him on the spot while Dennis Agbokhai Obazee immediately took to his heels.
Trouble however started after he witnessed the gruesome murder as killers of his close friend immediately trailed him down to his apartment unknown to him after the murder of his friend, it was gathered.
His friend’s killers, according to Information gathered, did not meet his family at home during their unscheduled visit to his apartment where they immediately took some of his pictures away for easy identification.
The embattled Dennis Agbokhai Obazee , it was said, in the face of obvious threats to his life, reported the threats emanating from witnessing his close friend’s murder to the police, a situation which further complicated his fears as the suspected killers again visited his apartment.
The suspected killers, according to sources in the community in Ohenre street, reportedly fired sporadic gunshots in the atmosphere as neigbours scampered for safety while his apartment was turned upside down by the suspected killers who ransacked his apartment for information on his whereabouts.
Meanwhile, as the suspected killers of Smart Ogbene continue in their manhunt to eliminate Dennis Agbokhai Obazee for witnessing the gruesome murder of his friend, it was gathered that he reportedly abandoned his community and fled as his immediate whereabouts remain unknown to anyone in the community.
