President Buhari writes Senate from London, wants Ag. FCT Chief Judge confirmed

President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Senate from London, where he is on a medical trip, to confirm Justice Salisu Abdullahi as the substantive Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory High Court.
Justice Abdullahi has been acting since the retirement of Justice Ishaq Bello.
According to a statement by the President’s Special Media on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the president made the request in April 1 letter to the senate.
The statement said, “The President made the request pursuant to Section 256 (1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
“In the letter, dated April 1, 2021, President Buhari urged the Senate to do the confirmation, ‘in the usual expeditious manner’.”
