PMG assures FG’s commitment to re-position NIPOST

Mr Bisi Adegbuyi, post-master general of the federation has assured that the Federal Government was committed to re-positioning of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) to become a world-class agency.

Adegbuyi gave this assurance to newsmen just after he paid a working visit to the Zonal Office of the agency in Sokoto.

“My visit across the country is aimed at assessing the progress and challenges of the agency in all the zones across the country.

“This is sequel to our commitment to change the fortunes of NIPOST in line with the three Is. These are Innovation, Invention and Integration, which every member of staff is expected to imbibe.

“All of us must be fully and religiously committed to them if the agency is to be effectively turned around,” the post-master general said.

Adegbuyi also disclosed that the management of the service was also committed to redress the physical and technological changes in this direction.

“We must imbibe and adequately deplore technology if we are to truly diversify and stay afloat in line with global best practices.

“We also have to decisively deal with some formidable challenges including dilapidated infrastructure, low morale of staff and low deployment of technology.

“Since assumption of office of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, the fortunes of the agency had changed for the better.

“The challenges of the agency’s offices nationwide differ, but there are also unique opportunities for each zone,” Adegbuyi added.
